SofTicker is a small but very nice RSS feed reader. You can configure SofTicker 0.89, just as any RSS feed reader, by adding the feed address (URL) and the program will retrieve the feed name and will check for updates. The RSS reload time can be set from 5 to 60 minutes. I liked SofTicker 0.89 small application because SofTicker 0.89 will run always on top of your screen as a ticker. You can quickly check all the news from a source by clicking the right or left arrows on the edges of the program window. When you click on a headline, a new browser window will open taking you exactly to the selected article. The program has a list of RSS addresses and you can also add your favorite RSS feed in oder to permanently stay in touch with the news in your fields of interest. Pluses: You can leave the program running and youll get the latest news one click away. Drawbacks / flaws: There is no archive, no history and you cant view simultaneously multiple RSS feeds. In conclusion: Although SofTicker 0.89 is a Beta version, the program worked like a charm. And I believe SofTicker 0.89 will get even better with every new release. version reviewed: 0.89
