If you saw the Aero effect on Microsoft Windows Vista or you like that switching effect from Mackintosh now you can test Shock Aero v1.3 on Microsoft Windows XP too. The program is free and easy to install. As for the usability Im not so sure about Shock Aero v1.3. Each time you want to use Shock Aero v1.3 program you have to access it from the system tray and then to scroll between the opened programs. I think Shock Aero v1.3 is quicker just to click on that programs taskbar button. Shock Aero v1.3 is true that with Shock Aero v1.3 program you can see what a certain window contains. While testing the program, Ive discovered that the above mentioned feature is not working perfectly and some of your minimized windows will not be shown opened but only their taskbar button. Another interesting behavior which I dont think it was meant to be like Shock Aero v1.3 is the scrolling function. If you scroll forward, the windows previews are transparent but sometimes, if you scroll backwards, the previews will be opaque. After testing this program I still fail to see its functionality. It might be free but that is not an excuse to not work. Pluses: Drawbacks / flaws: It has some functionality issues. In conclusion: I look forward for the next version hopping Shock Aero v1.3 will be as good as it should be in order to make me consider making a donation. version reviewed: 1.01
