Beginning June 2004 Sony NEC Optiarc introduces his first dual 8x DVD recording drive, that supports besides 8x write speed for DVD-R and for DVD +R media and 4x write or rewrite with DVD-RW and DVD +RW media as well the new functionality to write up to 8.5GB on the new double layer DVD +R9 media.ND-2510 comprises the most important 9 optical storage functions in 1 drive – the ideal all in one optical device.NEC ND-2510 P-ATA GNP o. GNF Firmware 2.0A new model offers fast DVD recording together with high speed CD recording and excellent read performance by using Sony NEC Optiarc’s know how developing and producing highly reliable optical storage devices.With the ND-2510A not only the user does not need to choose for one DVD format or the other – he has the freedom to choose the DVD R media of his choice without a compromise in performance or storage capacity: 1 hour DVD Video can be record in less than 10 minutes.Whether consumer desires to share cost-efficient home movies, music and/or private data by using write once discs, or like to store any kind of digital data only for a certain period by using rewriteable discs, the Sony NEC Optiarc ND-2510A is capable to store up to 8.5 GB onto one DVD disc (or 700 Mbyte on a CD disc).The ND-2510A takes advantage of Sony NEC Optiarc’s “high resolution writing strategy” and of an improved version of Sony NEC Optiarc’s “Active Optimized Power Control” (Active OPC, the “high resolution writing strategy”.
