HP Intel RAID Driver 8.9.0.1023 Rev.A package contains the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, RAID driver, and software support for the supported desktop models and operating system. The Intel Matrix Storage Manager provides RAID management and drivers that enable the setup of RAID on the supported desktop models with multiple hard drives. ENHANCEMENTS: - Updates RAID Management support for Microsoft Windows 7 Operating Systems.FIXES: - Fixes an issue where Event ID9 may be listed in the system Event log after the system has been sitting idle. HP Intel RAID Driver 8.9.0.1023 Rev.A issue is related to iastor.sys.PREREQUISITES: - Requires two hard drives, preferably of the same size and speed, and with the same amount of internal cache memory.- Requires the BIOS to be configured in RAID modeINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Download the file by clicking the Download or Obtain Software button and saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.NOTE: The files that are extracted in Step 2 include:- An installation package for the RAID driver and Intel Matrix Storage Manager Software to manage a RAID environment. These files extract to the c:SWSETUP folder under the SPxxxxx subfolder.- A Deployment folder within the SPxxxxx subdirectory contains the 32-bit and 64-bit drivers for operating system installation and manual driver update. For operating system installations copy the contents of the folder (f6flpy32 for 32-bit and f6flpy64 for 64-bit) to a diskette (floppy) (for Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows Vista) or to USB key (for Microsoft Windows Vista). The Intel Matrix Storage Manager Software must be installed to manage the RAID environment after the operating system setup is complete.- When migrating from a non-RAID environment with existing Operating System image, 4 MB of unallocated space is required at the end of the drive before a RAID volume can be set up using the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Software.NOTE: In the preceding examples, xxxxxx = SoftPaq number.NOTE: For information about setting up RAID, see the whitepaper titled, RAID Image Deployment on HP Compaq dc7900 Business PCs.
