HP Compaq Business Desktop ME Firmware and Utilities 2.2.10.1039 Rev.A package contains utilities that can be used to update the Intel Management Engine (ME) Firmware on the supported desktop models with a 786E1 system BIOS. Several methods for updating the ME firmware may be chosen. Included in HP Compaq Business Desktop ME Firmware and Utilities 2.2.10.1039 Rev.A package are the following methods:- The DOS utility updates the Intel ME firmware for the local machine in a DOS environment, and also verifies that the firmware has been updated.- The Microsoft Windows utility updates the Intel ME firmware of the local machine in a Microsoft Windows environment, and also verifies that the firmware has been updated.NOTE: The AMT 2.2 ME firmware image is only intended for HP Compaq Business Desktop dc7700 PC configurations. This SoftPaq does NOT include a system BIOS image. However, HP Compaq Business Desktop ME Firmware and Utilities 2.2.10.1039 Rev.A is recommended that the system BIOS be updated to the latest version (3.04 or later) before upgrading the ME firmware. Once the ME firmware is updated to this new image, HP Compaq Business Desktop ME Firmware and Utilities 2.2.10.1039 Rev.A CANNOT be re-flashed to an older ME firmware version (meaning you CANNOT restore HP Compaq Business Desktop ME Firmware and Utilities 2.2.10.1039 Rev.A to a 2.0, 2.1, or the previous 2.2 AMT versions). ENHANCEMENTS: - Resolves a potential vulnerability where someone with administrative credentials could potentially exploit boundary errors in the ME access function to compromise a system running susceptible versions of Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) via remote access. Exposure is limited to systems with Intel AMT provisioned and the web user interface (WEBUI) enabled.PREREQUISITES: None
