ProLiant Support Packs represent operating system (OS) specific bundles of ProLiant optimized drivers, utilities, and management agents. ProLiant Support Packs provide customers witha ProLiant system software baseline that has already been tested and verified by HP. Users can standardize upon a particular release of a ProLiant Support Pack as a base level for their servers throughout the environment. In addition to the baseline capabilities inherent in the ProLiant Support Packs, HP provides tools that make deploying the software updates to ProLiant servers throughout the environment easy.For the Microsoft WinServer 2008, 2008 x64, XP professional and WinServer 2003 x64 environment we provide a deployment utility named HP Smart Update Manager which allows customers to deploy software updates delivered within the ProLiant Support Packs to a remote servers based on a one to many basis. The HP Smart Update Manager is downloaded as a part of the ProLiant Support Pack.
